| Re: Where Can I Rent Lenses? I heard Calumet rents lenses. Otherwise, there are a few rental sources online. Do a search for the one Marshall (I think it was him) tried out. I'm venturing into unknown territory here, but I'll give it a shot... Weddings- If you have one camera you'll want to stick to one lens, MAYBE two. You may want to invest in a few disposable digital cheapies and give one to a knowledgeable kid and the rest to "creative looking" individuals. Tell them to shoot pics of the couple coming out of the church and similar situations. As far as lens I'd get a zoom whatever gets as close to 12-50mm and as fast as possible. The wide angles will be good for those creative down low and "pleasantly distorted shots" (as I call them) to create some uniqueness (as compared to everyday snapshots) to match the uniqueness of the day itself. The upperend will be good for more portrait looking shots. Surfing- As long as you can get. If you have little or no experience shooting long I'd recommend getting a VR lens. The Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 is great lens from what I've read, but not sure if that one comes in a VR version though. Personally, I'd go for a lens that hits 300 since you'll likely be shooting from the shore. Anyone else?

| Re: Where Can I Rent Lenses? You can rent lenses from Georges Camera in North Park. You will have to set up an account with a credit card. The credit card must be able to cover the cost of the lense just in case it were stolen or damaged while in your possesion.

| Re: Where Can I Rent Lenses? Undoubtedly use the 80-200 2.8 for both situations. If you have the budget for an extra lens get a wider one but by all means do Not use anything less than 2.8 During a wedding the lighting changes can be drastic and you want to have the fastest shutter speed possible without compromising the image quality.

| Re: Where Can I Rent Lenses? Sigma EF500 DG Super. Amazon.com: Sigma Lens EF 500 DG Super Electronic Flash for Nikon Camera: Electronics I've pimped this flash out many times and I will so more! It's comparable in power and function to the SB-800. From what I've read it doesn't do CLS (Nikon's infrared driven wireless off camera flash system), but I have a newer version of the model and have yet to confirm the claim because I use a pocket wizard and manual settings when the flash is off camera. When on the camera it works in TTL mode just like the Nikon guns. Don't fall for the slightly cheaper 500 ST model. You'll want the 500 SUPER. I've used the flash for 90% of my lastest shots in a combination of on and off camera use. Basically, if I used a flash I used my 500 Super. I used it for fill (or more) in ALL of the modeling shoot photos on my Flickr . It was also the flash I was using at the JA events. This is a search result in the Strobist Flickr group for shots that used the flash gun. Many examples there. I'd get another if I had the funding ($$$ is tight at the moment). Otherwise I'd say order the flash and try it...If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you. When is the wedding?????? I may extend that offer anyway. It's a great flash and I'd like a second...at least.
