Say goodbye to Kodachrome

Kodak has announced they're going to stop making it; Dwayne's Photo will stop processing at Dec 31 2010.

Re: Say goodbye to Kodachrome

Everybody should get a roll or two and shoot their friends and family with it.

Re: Say goodbye to Kodachrome

I'm digging out the old film canon for a last run through with all kinds of film.

I'm likely to be shooting film for a while just because of this.

Re: Say goodbye to Kodachrome

Steven McCurry, famed NatGeo photog, shot the picture of that beautiful Indian woman for the cover of NatGeo on Kodachrome in the early 80s. He's stated he will get the last rolls of Kodachrome off the production line, use them to make some very special pictures, and donate them to the Kodak museum in Rochester, as a tribute to this fine and enduring film.

I have Kodachromes that my father shot after WWII that are still gorgeous. Back then it was a new and wondrous film.

Re: Say goodbye to Kodachrome

Ektar is pretty boss. I shot some last Christmas on a trip to Vancouver. You can see the pictures here: http://brianthedellphotography.com/van_ektar/

I fell in love with Ektar with these shots (linked cuz they're big):

ONE
TWO

I'll be shooting some film this weekend, at the Wild Animal Park, and digital too.
