Lens Question

Just picked up my grandmas Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 with the silent wave motor. The lens makes a squeaking sound when focusing. What could this be and where can I get it repaired if needed? The lens functions good just makes a sound like it needs barring needs to be greased.

Re: Lens Question

You Broke It!

I would call Pro Photographic Repair off Convoy. Check to see if we still get a discount for being from the forum.

Re: Lens Question

Kurt's Camera Repair, Inc. - factory-equipped camera and projector repair facility. is off Mission Gorge Rd. I know Nelson's sends their repairs to them but I haven't personally checked them out yet.

Re: Lens Question

It's trashed, but I can use the front glass off it for a project of mine. I'll give you $20 for your trouble.
