mESmERiZEd - Train ride to Union Station

Hope you guys don't mind me posting so many photos...I just like sharing them, as it would be such a waste if I just kept them on my computer hard drive. This photo was taken on the train ride from San Diego to L.A. The kid was a row or two in front of me and I sniped the photo through the gap between the seat and the window. Sniping is also a lot of fun.

Here's another sniped photo I took on the train. I wanted to capture the essence of how much we are tied to technology (kid was playing a video game on the notebook while mom, plugged into train power, was checking email or text messaging). I used a 35mm lens (on a 5D - it's pretty wide), set the camera on my lap, aimed and shot. Because of the wide angle lens, I knew I'd be able to capture the people in the background without looking through the viewfinder.
