Very cool redtail! I like the fierceness in the eye. BTW, your watermark is a bit pixelated. Maybe because my monitor is running at a lower reso (1400x1050)?

Very nice shot Dale. If I may ask? What gear were you using, and what settings? I live in Ramona live on the edge of the grasslands. I see hawks often but have not yet been able to get a shot as clean and clear as yours.

That was taken at ISO 100 f/8 at 1/800 on my beloved Canon 5D and 70-200 mm Lglass lens at about 1:20 pm ,The watermark is pixelated because it was added at a smaller size and I used the image in a larger format than I normally do, the watermark is there to keep most image thieves from stealing my images, I also have the "Masters" I sell.......every now and then.hehehe

Fantastic shot! I have a pair of RedTails that live in a tree across the street - - one attacked my cat last year and then stayed in our backyard and harassed him (the cat) all week!

Well to the Hawk the cat is just another scooby snack.
