Back again, Anniversary photos

Today (May 14th) was Stacey & I's 3rd anniversary, so I took the opportunity to shoot some photos of her in Balboa Park.

Re: Back again, Anniversary photos

Good start Josh, they look just a wee bit oversharpened on my screen here.

Re: Back again, Anniversary photos

I don't see over-sharpening (halo effects) what I see is down sampling.

Nice collection though.

Re: Back again, Anniversary photos

Nice shots. Watch your vertical lines. Offer to carry the purse if they are worried about leaving it far enough away to be out of the shot. Put it in a backpack or something if you have to. When you have a subject turning their head away like that have them keep their eyes straight. Looking over even more with the eyes makes for an unnatural looking zombie white eye. Also, try having her up one or two steps so she can use the hand rail as a natural arm rest. Have her rear flat against the rail to create a more flattering angle to the camera. Then move the frame over to keep her at thirds.

Ahh... yes the purse, Didn't notice it @ first.

Second shot would have been cool IMO to show the rest of her Heart medallion.

Thanks for the tips, I'll pass them along to my wife, she's not very photogenic! Its the unscripted shots with her that turn out the best...

Its a butterfly, but... I have a wider panned shot, lemme upload that in the next few days here... Those were Macro shots, the tree didn't blur as much as I had expected, but in any case...

Speaking of vertical lines, wow I missed that! Should have straightened the photo...
